Little鈥檚 MSU Spanish courses earn international Quality Matters certification

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥好色先生鈥檚 Spanish II and III courses taught by Instructor Chris Little in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures are now internationally recognized Quality Matters-certified curricula.
The QM certification mark is a symbol of online and blended course design quality and represents Little鈥檚 ongoing commitment to creating learning environments that provide students with a clear pathway to success. With an initial credential for his Spanish I course last year, this receipt of two additional QM certifications means he now has the most recognized and reviewed MSU online courses. These are the result of his efforts in completing the rigorous review process and continuous improvement as part of the instructional design team鈥檚 innovative work in MSU鈥檚 Center for Distance Education.
The classes now appear in the QM directory of certified courses.
鈥淭his work reflects our commitment to creating online educational experiences that foster student interaction, collaboration and deep learning鈥攅ssential elements that drive student success and retention in the digital classroom,鈥 said Mark Jimerson, assistant director of online admissions and enrollment.
QM-certified reviewers use the QM rubric and associated standards based on research and best practices. A course earns the certification mark once it meets QM rubric standards at the 85% threshold or better and all essential standards.
